This card was made for my MotherÂ’s Birthday. It all started with the colours of the ribbon and went from there.
For the background I cut 2 inch strips of CS and either stamped it or embossed it. Some I punch the scalloped edger on the both sides or one side and then cut them in half. I sponged the edges of some with distress ink (broken china). Some of the non punched ones I added in the teal scallop piece and then I layered them on a piece of paper and taping each one on as I went – each one has a 1 cm showing of green. Once they were all taped on I then cut the edges to the size I wanted. Added ribbon the hide the seam and the sponged the edges of the whole layer. Taped that layer onto a distressed piece of teal paper and then onto another piece of green.
I rolled up the paper flower, then unrolled it and crumpled it up a couple of times. I sponged the edges with distress ink and rolled it up again and used glued dots to hold it together. I used a paint brush to add some rock candy stickles to the edges. The leaves with painted with rock candy crackle paint and then I sponged distress ink over. To make the pearls yellow I used a Q-tip and alcohol ink.

Wow ... such inspiration from a simple ribbon. Gorgeous card, love all the layers, textures, stamping, edging, distressing, flower, colors ..... my gosh there isn't a thing about your lovely card that I don't like. Right down to the wonderful little tag. Well done. I'm going to stare at my ribbon drawer for awhile and see if inspiration can find it's way into my craftroom.
TFS!!!!
